The following is designed to give you an idea of how a race might occur with Purse Riders, "Hazard Riders", and "Death Riders" mixed into an event lobby.
Ready Up occurs... Look over your shoulder to possibly identify other riders.
Count Down is ticking off, 3, 2, 1... Your position may or may not be favorable to your racing style. You get to look around for several quick seconds to see who is positioned where.
AND THEY'RE OFF!!!
1. Several riders blast off the starting line to get the lead hoping against all the odds to be able to pull off a run away while others bump, bang, kick and strike looking for room to maneuver their mount.
2. Others hold back to keep from potentially getting caught up in an early crash while letting the field string out... After all, they want to be behind the "Death Riders" as long as possible to be able to identify them, if, possible.
3. Purse Riders, Hazard Riders and Death Riders charge on all racing for the energy barrels, gun barrels, signal fires and marker flags hoping to successful hit the mark without going down.
4. There is little left to sustain your mount or offer you protection with all of the barrels being taken by those in front of you... but still, your horse races on. Will there be an energy barrel to be sucked up? Will a barrel re-spawn by the time you are at that perfect spot? You can only play the cards you have been dealt in this wild mixed race of competitors.
5. Shooting has started up front... you hope that a Purse Rider has taken out a Death Rider or a Hazard Rider, knowing that if a Purse Rider misses the intended target and kills another Purse Rider judiciary action will be quick to follow with an unconditional disqualification. After all, justice is swift in the old west id you don't follow the law. It is imperative not to kill a Purse Rider.
6. Finally, an opportunity presents itself, you barely miss several downed riders and their steed as you surge ahead grabbing any and all weapons that you may need to use before the race is over. By grabbing these guns you just might be saving your own life from those that are now behind you. Still... the threat of a Hazard Rider or a Death Rider now comes both in front of you and behind and is just as ominous. Maybe they should have been booted from the racing field by a kindly worded conversation or... by a more aggressive vote.
7. As the race is nearing the finish line a lot of leaning, pushing, shoving and striking is going on. To shoot or not to shoot, to possibly gain that 1st. place position, that is the question? The bullets are flying! The strikes are coming from all directions! Bumping is rampart! Damn, I hope I don't get caught up in an unforeseeable crash. Do I go all out, or hold back just a little to be sure to finish and get that low score for the overall event series positioning?
Race Posting:
1st. Place... Hazard Rider. (He was a non Purse Rider. Vote him out, or keep him in the series to possibly inadvertently help you... hmmm?)
2nd Place... Death Rider. (Vote him out or hope he shoots your Purse Racer competitor... something to ponder!)
3rd. Place... Purse Rider. (Was the first Purse Rider to cross the finish line and will therefore receive the lowest numbered score for that particular race. A good overall decision.)
And so on down through the ranks. Maybe the next race will better favor you in starting position and finishing position!
